Happy Bday Crissa--posted a little late

I hope Mike doesn't mind me using this picture, but it is a recent one of Crissa and I love how radiant those blue eyes look. My cousin Lacrissa just had her birthday this month. She is one of the rare things in our family--a girl. There are only 3 granddaughters on the Vaughan side and all of us have been spaced 6 years apart. So when I was six Lacrissa was born, when Lacrissa was six Lauren was born. She is growing up beautifully and although she lives a couple states away from me it is always fun to hear from her via email or whatever. She shares a love for big earrings like I do and it is always fun to hear what she is up to or who she likes or whatever it may be. I don't know if she remembers this, but when she was about three or four she came and lived with us during the summer. She was quite the little character then haha a little manipulative haha. I remember her wanting something and then to try and get her way she would say, "fine then I am not your cousin." It makes me laugh. However the one thing during that time that always pops up in my head, and it even did this last week when I was thinking about her was that even though she was very young and it was the middle of summer she would sing (and knew all the words too) Harry Connick Jr's song It Must have Been Ol' Santa Clause. She would always follow that song with a song about a fish. I can't think of it right now. It would just crack me up! She has always had beautiful thick red hair and I love her recent haircut! She is a wonderful girl! Happy Birthday Crissa!!!! Love ya Girlie!!!!

A few other things and a correction

Some more things from Gma and Gpa's house. My Uncle Mike is very talented artistically. My Uncle Jeff was big into Laurel and Hardy. My Uncle Mike drew these. Pretty cool! It is something that is familiar to me on the walls of Jeff's old room so I though I should take a pic of it.
Mike also drew this cartoon of Jeff. It makes me smile because I remember sitting in sacrament meeting when I was a lot younger (maybe 7 or 8) and I was bored out of my mind. Mike sat next to me with a pen and paper and drew me a cartoon. Take similar facial features, but add a long pony tail and a floral dress with chunky shoes sitting on a church pew. Haha it was a picture of me. i have it somewhere, I think it is up in the attic, but when I find it I will have to scrapbook it!

Some more of the artwork in the attic. I am corrected however that the artists were not all the boys, but instead Dad and Mike.
This is a wall that is in the process of being torn down. I wasn't going to post it because of all the holes and destruction, but I think the drawing is just too cool to not be shared.
This is the wall paper in Grandma's sewing room--a metallic pink. I love it! haha. I am sure it is very old though.

memories

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, if you want re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about us, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

something new just to cure Katie's whining. JK

Grandma and Grandpa's attic is a place that have some fun memories from my childhood. I remember going upstairs to visit Uncle Chris before and after his mission. His room was decorated with giant christmas ball looking ornaments hanging from the ceiling and lots of strings of lights of all kinds. The lights were regular to chili peppers, to looney tunes, etc. Well I haven't been up to the attic in a very long time. When I went to get pictures of Mary (the doll) I decided to go get pictures of the artwork that adorned the attic. When Dad and the uncles were younger they decorated the attic. I was saddened when I went upstairs and noticed a lot of the painting had faded. SO here are some of the remaining pictures:
This was the "puff-ta" chart or in otherwords directions on how to belch.

Okay I hope the parents don't mind me posting this, but Jake's friend and girlfriend just had their beautiful baby girl Annabelle! Congrats Ben and Brandyce! Jake and Matt sent me thes e pictures from their phones and I am so glad ! She is adorable and believe it or not Mister-I -Don't -Hold-Other-People's-Babies (Jake) actually held her. He is actually more comfortable with it and enjoys it now.

Okay I figured I better post these before they become very old. This is from my surprise from Jake. It was the last day of my tests for school. I was a meanie for sure and Jake told me not to make any plans that day. He picked me up and we spent the day at the fair. We had a great time and went on the rides. We even went on the slingshot this year--crazy fun! We also got our caricature done again of course. We were frankenstein and his bride-- not dropping hints of course so before that is even asked again. Here is Chris, Jake, and Matt with the camel. Oh this is out of order. Okay after the fair we went to Jake's so I could finish my final exam for my online classes and then we went to the movie Hancock. EVERYTIME we go to the movie theater we have to stop and test Jake's strength. Haha. Well they have a new machine. I did terrible--I don't know if i was doing it wrong or if I am just really that weak. I scored butterfingers (that is the very bottom light) haha. Here is Jake's score. He obviously felt the need to show me up. We also took pictures that night so maybe I will have to post those sometime as well.
Okay we had to go check out the livestock etc. We cut through this building and this gal was milking a goat. Jake wanted to go over so we did. Then he asked if she would teach him how to do it. She was a good sport and talk us how to milk a goat. Jake was a fast learner and had a steady stream. I was pathetic. I was so scared to hurt the goat that I was lucky to get a drop out of her. This lady that worked for the fair asked if she could take pictures of us and she just sent them to me so here they are.
